Obituary for Anton Benard Jaskinia
Anton Benard Jaskinia, Age 89, of Falls City, passed away on August 10, 2018. He was born on May 13, 1929 in Kosciusko to Ben and Cecelia (Kotara) Jaskinia. Anton served in the Army from 1948 - 1952. He was in the 82nd Airborne - Company D, America’s guard of honor. He successfully completed the Basic Airborne Training at Fort Benning, Georgia and then continued as an Airborne Training Instructor as a Parachutist and Glider Man at Fort Benning. Anton married Mary Louise Pavliska on September 23, 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Jaskinia; his children, Gregory (Teresa) Jaskinia of Sutherland Springs, Patricia (Joe Schiefelbein) McLean of Garwood, Patrick Jaskinia of Elhart Lake, WI, Richard Jaskinia of Kosciusko, Monica (Jim) Fox of Pettus, and Mark (Renee) Jaskinia of Poth; sister, Rosie Pruski of Floresville and brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Agnes Jaskinia of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Isaac) Strickland, Melissa (Rick Ginder) Jaskinia , Gregory (Anna) Jaskinia, Michelle (Steven Moss Jr) Jaskinia, Alyssa (Shawn) Toepperwein, Claudette (Michael) Anderson, Joseph Schiefelbein, Casey Schiefelbein, Jessica (Jake) Drzymala , Sammy McLean, Crystal Jaskinia, Dane Jaskinia, Willie (Stephanie) Fluitt, Josh, Colton, Taylor, & Avery Jaskinia, Chase & Matt Helford, Dakota & Jordan Jaskinia; thirty-two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Agnes Dudek Jaskinia; a baby brother, Frank; and a daughter, Rita Jean Jaskinia; sisters, Bina Pruski and husband Emil, Emily Korzekwa and husband Leonard, Helen Rapstine and husband Henry, and a brother-in-law, Edmond Pruski; great -grandchildren, William Brasher, Joshlynn Amy Nat’e Williams and Adalynn Paige Anderson; a grand-daughter-in-law, Kayla Helford.
Visitation will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciusko, Texas on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
