Ollin "Bugger" Pierpont
Ollin "Bugger" Pierpont 86, of Smiley went to meet his heavenly father on Thursday, February 1, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born August 30, 1931, the fourth of five boys and was also a twin to Walter Fieldon Pierpont and Minnie Claudia Passmore Pierpont.
He proudly served his country in the US Army.
He married Joyce Cowey on March 1, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Monthalia, Texas.
After his tour in the service he worked for the King Transport in San Antonio hauling new trucks in Detroit, Michigan. In 1957, he bought the Sinclair service station in Smiley. Later, he sold the station and started selling Reliable batteries. In 1969 Ollin and Joyce decided go into the poultry and cattle business. He later retired from that in 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: James, Eugene, and twin brother Olen Pierpont.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Joyce Pierpont, and a daughter Cindy Lott and husband Richard of Leesville; grandchildren: Jason Lott and wife Jenny of Kingwood, Courtney Lott Bunch and husband Wesley of Smiley, and Kimberly Lott of Leesville; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Lott, Colton Maxey, Addie Maxey, Ava Bunch, and Cheyenne Bunch; his brother Jerry Pierpont and wife Martha of Hillsboro and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ollin loved his family and country. His favorite past times were watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Spurs and trapping hogs and eating out. He also enjoyed a good Travis Club cigar and wearing his King Ranch caps.
The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with Visitation beginning at 10:00 that morning. Interment will follow at the Bundick Cemetery in Smiley. Pallbearers: Bill Pierpont, Brad Pierpont, Jason Lott, Jim Pierpont, Jonathan Morrell, and Tom Pierpont. Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Pierpont, Richard Lott, Wesley Bunch, Colton Maxey, Michael Grant, and David Pierpont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bundick Cemetery Association or the American Cancer Society.
