On December 25, 2018 Christina Lynn Vela Perez, 42 of La Vernia, Texas passed from this life to her eternal home surrounded by love. Christina was born on July 15, 1976 in Houston, Texas to Elio Roel Vela and Mary Alice (Salinas) Vela and was raised in Crosby, Texas. On August 10, 1996 she married her soulmate, Stephen Gabriel Perez in Corpus Christi, Texas where she received her BBA from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. They eventually made their home in La Vernia. Christina made a career in Human Resources for both Coca-Cola and USAA. Christina was a very active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in La Vernia where her presence will be dearly missed. Preceding her in death is her sister, Carol DeLeon. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 22 years, Stephen Perez; sons, Jacob Rey Perez and Jonas Gabriel Perez; parents, Roy and Mary Alice Vela of San Antonio; sister, Cathy Villegas (Javier); brother, Richard Vela (Kimberly); sister, Terri Ryan (Scott); father and mother-in-law, Robert and Hope Perez; sister-in-law, Christina Escobedo; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cyndi Perez; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Ann Catholic Church in La Vernia from 9:00am-10:00am with the Rosary Vigil at 10:00am.
