On December 6, 2018 Elton “Sonny” Witte passed away in Floresville, Texas at the age of 91. Sonny was born on September 5, 1927 in La Vernia, Texas to Wilhelm August Witte and Elsa Edna (Mattke) Witte. Sonny is survived by his son, Jeffrey Witte and wife, Shelley, and daughter, Shannon Lewis and husband Robert; grandchildren, Shawn Lein (Carl), Robert Lewis (Gretchen), Stacey Wright (Roy), Danielle Morrison (Phelps), Michael McAda (Jo Ann), and Kelley McAda; siblings, Elsie Ferry, Lillian Kosub, Laura Baumann and husband, Marvin “Pete” Baumann; sister-in-law, Rita Witte; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Elsa Witte; wife, Mary Witte; son, Terrance McAda; and numerous brothers, sisters, and brothers and sisters-in-law. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.
