Obituary for Esther M. Thomas (Medrano)
Esther M. Thomas, 89, passed away on February 23, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Esther was born on September 25, 1927 to Jesus Medrano and Rafaela Gaitan Medrano in Hanford, California. On August 8, 1952, she married Johnnie B. Thomas in San Jose, California. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnnie in 2002; and son, William “Bill” Villegas in 2015. She is survived by her children, Chris Thomas, George Villegas and wife Maria, Cindy Mills and husband David, and Johnnie Thomas Jr. and wife Erica; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Gil Medrano; sisters, Erlinda Flemate and Eva Venegas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas; the Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
