Regina C. Young entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on June 21, 1931 in Germany to Rudolf Felix Dreschsel and Cecila Nemecek Dreschsel. Regina was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Frederick Lee Young Jr.
She is survived by her five children; Andy Young and wife Kay from Macae, Brazil, Rodney Young and wife Darla from Austin, Doreen Styra and husband Thomas from Cuero, Donald Young and wife Sandra from Nixon and Mark Young from Nixon.
She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Andy Young Jr. and wife Lindy from Richmond, Lisa Stevens and husband Richard from Yoakum, Ethan Young from Gonzales, Lindsay Boggs and husband Michael from Groves, Dustin Reece from Groves, Brynn and Samuel Young from Austin, Kasey Wiken and husband Chris from Milwaukee Wisconsin, Sonya Dueser and husband George from Yorktown, Christopher Styra and wife Jill from Cuero, Jennifer Vidal and husband Greg from Stockdale, Kristina Villasana and husband Stephen from New Braunfels and Mark Young Jr. from Nixon.
She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Regina was a loving Mom to her children and was affectionately known as “Oma” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known by many in Nixon and she was very fond of her “Coffee Ladies and Men” at the Main Drug Store where she would often go daily in the afternoons.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. A private Interment will follow at the Nixon Cemetery at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guadalupe Regional Hospice in Seguin.
