On Monday, August 1, 2016 Hattie Katherine “Kitty” (Shoopman) Wotipka passed away peacefully at home in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79. Hattie was born on January 11, 1937 in Vera, Texas to Jack and Lillie (Blackburn) Shoopman. Kitty was dealt many hardships in life and always overcame them; raising her three children alone and eventually becoming a successful business owner in Southeast San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Wotipka, her parents; her step-father, W.T. Carpenter; her son, Tommy D. Freasier Jr.; siblings, Billie Louise Dees, Leroy Shoopman and Joetta Hemby-Kluth. She will be missed dearly by her children, Deborah Wotipka, Edward Wotipka, and Loretta Wotipka-Riely (Shawn); grandchildren, Rebecca Jaeger (Jason) and Jessica Wotipka; great-grandchildren, Lillian Jaeger and Evelyn Jaeger; siblings, La Verne Hartsfield (Dub), Wilburn Ray Shoopman (Sharon), sister-in-law Joan Shoopman; life-long friend, Margie Schmid; as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends. The family wishes to extend heartfelt praise to the staff at A-Plus Family Care and Axiom Hospice Care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale, Texas.
