Obituary for Troy Lamar Edwards
Troy Lamar Edwards of Luling, TX passed away on March 4, 2015 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 88. He was born on July 1, 1926 in Athens, LA to the late Toy Truman and Minnie Velma (Pope) Edwards. Mr. Edwards proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class during World War II from 1944-1946. Prior to joining the Navy, he worked in the ship yards of New Orleans where he learned his profession as a Master Welder. He worked many years in the oilfield drilling industry after the war and later began and retired as owner of Edwards Welding Service in Luling, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. Left to mourn his passing and forever cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Ms. Virginia Moore Edwards and daughter, Pamela Edwards of Luling, TX; one brother, Robert L. Edwards of Kenedy, TX; sister in law, Mary Nell McCosh and husband Harry of Victoria; brother-in-law, Rev. William Moore and wife Margie of Birmingham, AL; several special nephews and nieces and many wonderful friends.
There will be a private burial in Nixon Cemetery, Nixon, TX under the direction of Finch Funeral Chapel, LLC of Nixon (830) 582-1521.
