Obituary for Antonia Ortiz (Fonseca)
Antonia Ortiz, age 91 of Nixon, died October 1, 2014 in Luling. She was born March 9, 1923 in Nixon to Felix and Anastasia Montoya Fonseca. Antonia is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Genovevo Ortiz. She is survived by her children: Janie O. Martinez of Luling, Diana Anzaldua of Houston, Mary McHaney of Lockhart, Armando Ortiz of Seguin, and Arturo Ortiz of Seguin; two brothers: Felix Fonseca of Seguin, Salvador Fonseca of Nixon; a sister, Cipriana Riojas of Nixon; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel of Nixon with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 3, at 2:30 PM at Finch Chapel with Pastor Brandon Hollar officiating. Interment will follow in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
