Dorothy O’Neal, formerly of Smiley, went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2013. Dorothy was born to James and Johnnie McFarland on April 13, 1920 in Gonzales County. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Smiley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Monroe O’Neal; two daughters: Barbara Jones and Samantha O’Neal; her son, Gary O’Neal; brothers: Robert McFarland, Millard Stewart, J.R. Stewart, Merrell Stewart; sisters: Geneva Redmonn, Hattie Lewis, Azalene Elder, Donnie Wight, Johnnie Witzel, Ava O’Neal; and two grandsons: Billy Jones and Kevin Pullin.

She is survived by her daughter, Bennie Pullin; her son, Dwayne O’Neal; grandchildren: Lisa Jones, Karl Pullin, Keith Pullin, Kerianne Benoit, Traci Miller, Gary O’Neal Jr., Terese Tompkins, Randa Gipson, Garrett O’Neal, and Tyler O’Neal. Great-grandchildren: Eric and Kevin Pullin; Courtney Newan; Chelsea Hailey; Maggie Crowther; Jake Morris; Allison, Keith Jr. and Catherine Pullin; Katie Taylor; Cory Benoit; Kambri and Kaylie Miller; Kineley, Addison, Callen and Lexton Tompkins. Great-great-grandchildren: Faith, Casey, Ethan and Ian Pullin; Kennidy Wilson; Parker and Addison Crowther; and Briar Rose Becker. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Smiley, TX 78159.
